The Enneagram is a model of nine core personality types, numbered 1 to 9, each driven by a different underlying motivation. CharacterDex uses it for fun to let the community type characters — it's entertainment, not a diagnosis.
Each of the nine types centres on a core motivation and the fear underneath it. Many people also lean toward one of the neighbouring numbers — a 'wing' — written like 8w7 (an Eight leaning Seven). The grid below lists the nine core types.
Open any type to see the characters the community has typed that way. Counts are live; types with no characters yet aren't linked.
Nine numbered types (1–9), each with a distinct core motivation. On CharacterDex each typing is community opinion shown with its vote count, for entertainment.
A wing is a neighbouring type that flavours your core — for example 8w7 is an Eight leaning toward Seven. We list the nine core types here; wings appear on individual character pages.
Here it's a playful lens, not a clinical instrument. Browse a type below or take the 60-second quiz.
Just so you know: Every type here is community opinion shown with its vote count, never a clinical verdict.
